LZF
"A commentiment to quality and a passion for light and wood."
LZF lighting got started in 1994 by Marivi Calvo and Sandro Tothill. The contemporary lighting company has a gypsy-like past, beginning in a living room, then moving into a garage, transitioning to a basement, and then upgrading to an enameling plant before finally establishing roots in a converted winery in the Chiva village in Valencia, Spain. Working with freelance designers, Calvo and Tothill experimented with the unique flexible qualities of wood veneer, later patenting Timberlite™ and building the Spanish lighting company's entire line around the environmentally friendly material. Today, the LZF lamps line is comprised of veneer pendant lighting and suspensions, wall lights and portable lamps. With only a single material from which to work, LZF lighting is surprisingly diverse in its collection of light fixtures. They're soft yet contemporary with a distinctive visual lightness. From modern suspension ceiling lights to wall sconces, LZF lighting fixtures are fabulously shaped, their curves producing unique shadows and lighting effects on the surrounding surfaces. Each modern lighting piece provides an elegant structural presence and showcases a sort of natural flow in its design. All veneers that LZF uses are forested under environmentally sustainable guidelines, and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), a non-profit organization that advocates for the responsible management of the world's forests.
