“Sklo” is the Czech word for “glass”. The heart of all the SkLO collections is handblown glass, and we work exclusively within the Czech glassblowing tradition to produce our glass.

The idea of Craft is our focus. Our philosophy celebrates old traditions, but our emphasis is on design and process over form or decoration. Our designs show restraint, to achieve the simplest expression of the idea, but without sacrificing our most important consideration in all we do – beauty.

SkLO was founded in 2009 by husband and wife design team Karen Gilbert and Paul Pavlak, and brothers Pavel and Petr Hanousek.
